Development of
Grapple Knife

The initial concept of grapple Knife is based of a game mode from a old game called Blockland. The gamemode was a deathmatch, where the last one standing one. To win, players would need to carefully traverse a floating series of plates to stab each other, using a grappling hook to gain momentum and swing around.

The primary goal of this project is to produce a fun and simple platformer, based of the Blockland game mode, in a single player format. To achieve this I decided to make the use of the grappling hook more important than typical platforming, so reducing the total amount of tiles was the first step.

But the primary and core mechanic of this game would be the grappling hook itself, as its the primary method of mobility and interaction with the level.
